Lets Start the Experiment

Now that you have written your hypothesis, you are ready to start the experiment.

Follow the steps below. Take your time and read each step carefully.

  1. Prepare the 6 cell for your different mediums by ensuring it is clean and placing it into your 1020 tray.
  2. Add each medium to a separate cell.
  3. Make a hole in the media with your finger about 1/2 and inch deep.
  4. Add a Kale seed to each hole in the media and cover it.
  5. Gently add some water to each medium. (Remember we want our media moist but not soaking wet)

Draw a picture about what your experiment looks like to begin. This will be the start of your scientific observations. Be sure to label your picture with the date and time you are creating it.

We will spend more time tomorrow reviewing how to make observations and take notes while your experiment occurs.
