What about light?

Until recently, plants were always grown in soil. By experimenting with different materials we have learned that there are other materials that plants can grow in just as well.

But what about light?

Is it possible for plants to grow without any light? As mentioned earlier, light is one of the inputs required for photosynthesis to occur. But how does the light affect the plant’s growth? What happens if the light is partially shaded, reflected, or blocked completely?

It’s time to run an experiment. You will set up two 5×5 trays to grow under a dome. One will have a lamp placed over it with no obstruction. Since this is normal plant growth, this will be our control. The second tray will also have a dome and lamp over it, but the we will place a barrier between the lamp and the dome. This is our testing set up, so this is our variable.
