Seeds are planted in chemicals

Any medium that plants are planted in are made up of elements and compounds that can effect growth. Knowing about these ingredients helps us make decisions about what is best for our plants

Like any other living thing plants have preferences. They like certain chemicals and properties and dislike others. If we want to grow healthy plants we need to give them what they like.

But how do we know what those properties are?

In order to tell what chemical property a substance has we need to witness a chemical reaction.

Tomorrow we will do an experiment to get information about the most important chemical property of the soil or media we are using to grow plants.
